I see me...
"1st Bike Ride"
5x7 acrylic on canvas
$125 unframed plus $10 for shipping in the US
Email:dogbri@q.com to purchase
So I'm pretty much done with this self portrait, but I still have to paint the sides of the canvas. There were lights on either side of the minor, but the canvas, or framing I chose isn't large enough to show them. So rather than do another posting where the only thing that's changed is something you can't see, I consider this done.
One thing that I haven't mentioned with this painting is that I worked from a B&W photograph instead of color, just to see how it would work out. I have such a vivid memory of what the colors of my clothing and the bathroom were, I figured it would be a fun exercise. I liked doing it so much that I'm going to try it on my next painting as well.

The "lily" turned out nice and this one became lighter and is nice as well.
Have you been drawing/painting daily for a long time?
Cheers 2 U and yours!
Nice...I like the humor and directness of this one. Working from black and white photos is a great way to hang on to the memory image of color and not be influenced by color in the photo.
Thanks CM,
I started doing dailies last Nov. but whenever I have a commission or a new painting I'm really engrossed in I work almost daily on it. Sometimes I work on it for hours non-stop and others it's just a few hours every few days.

Hi Don,
I was thinking about you on Thursday when we screened "Chuck Close" that film and his work is so great.
This new one I just started is B+W as well. I do have a color photo in reserve because part of Bettini is missing from the B+W photo.
