Emmett gets new colors

"Downward Emmett"
(in progress)

12x24 acrylic on canvas
$600
SOLD

I printed a larger and lighter version of the photo I'm using as a reference and now I'm seeing new color possibilities. Yeah!

It's strange how little changes in my reference can change the way I make a painting. You can see the photo to the left of the painting on my easel. I think it's slightly over exposed in that print but it's giving me more details in the shadow areas. Enabling me to bring more life to Emmett's body.

I'm planning to do a long bike ride tomorrow so I'm not sure if there will be a posting or not. Stop back and see.

Thank you so much for your kind words and welcome to my blog Mr. Lee.

You're works are beautiful and I like what you've written about them.

I came to your site via the Coffee Messiah - fresh ground, organic, fair trade coffee and a canine friend - life is good for my human! :-)

A local artist here is doing my portrait too. Wish he would hurry up but I guess he needs time to capture all the wonderful facets of my personality!

Loved your site, and glad the cyclists are healing.
