I got to the point with the floor where I'm really in love with it. Now I can start to think about other parts of the painting. Yeah.

I'm posting so late because I had a fun filled day of activity when I wasn't seated at the easel. It started off with a trip to see a 1956 Airstream that Corrine and I will be buying. Then off to the Short Term Gallery, followed by mountain biking at Phillips Lake. Fun, Fun, Fun.

The show in Bend this past weekend was great, and I had a fun time visiting friends and hanging out in Central Oregon.

More painting to come tomorrow.

I spent a large part of today working on Bettini and created a new tone for the floor. I'm really happy with how the texture of the floor is coming out and can't wait to continue it tomorrow.

After tomorrow there won't be any postings till Tuesday. I'm heading to Bend, OR for a weekend art show. If you're in the area stop by and see me at the NW Crossing Saturday Market.

I was back to work today after having a nice break from painting. Even though I love racing my bike I definitely missed painting these past four or five days.

I came back to my temporary studio at the Short Term Gallery to find I had forgotten to close the lid tightly on my palette, and 90% of my paints had dried solid. That was a big disappointment.

I got to work on the little dog today and that made for a good time.

Dog Racer

This weekend was great fun racing. This is a picture of me just after being pulled from the criterium. That is my least favorite type of racing, but over all the weekend was awesome.

The team kit I'm in is the Bella/Dogs by Bri it's a jersey I designed last year along with Bella owner Bev Calder and fellow artist Sarah Wynn. The dog is my input if you couldn't guess.

You can't tell from the picture, but the weather turn for the worst over Sat. night and the race was cut short by about 84 miles on Sunday. The route included 4 mountain passes that were above 5500 ft. and it was snowing at the finish in the morning. Race director Ernie Conway made the right call, and saved a lot of racers from ending up with hypothermia.

Now back to painting.

"Food" to see...

So this working seven days a week at the Short Term Gallery and training for the Elkhorn has made a liar out of me. I said two days ago you would see my progress. Well, here it is a day late.

I'm getting more and more excited about the race and this painting. Today I did most of my work in the morning and then spent the afternoon chatting with fellow artists and customers. It was a wonderful day.

One thing that needs the most help, is the handle on the drawer to the stove, and Corrine's legs. I get a little input for people everyday on how I need to make them look more "like this" or "more like that." When Corrine tells me to make changes those are the ones I listen too. They're her legs so she knows them best. I'm just an interpreter.

Unseen progress

Sorry there's not a picture here. I've been painting everyday. Some more than others, but with the Elkhorn quickly approaching I'm trying to hit the hay sooner than later. Tonight I'm going to bed way to late.

You'll get to see the nice work I did on the painting this weekend tomorrow.

Good night.

I spent much of today working on pictures of bicycles that will end up on mugs Corrine made and will be selling next weekend at the Elkhorn.

I did do a little work on this though and the towels are coming along nicely.

Busy painting away during the day at the Short Term Gallery, and then I'm either training for the race or working in the yard. Every night I'm getting more and more tired. Thankfully the race is just a week away.

I love how the towels are coming together on the stove. I'm so excited about getting to the Bettini part of the painting, that I wish I had chosen a smaller canvas so I could be there already. Oh the problems we artists create for ourselves.

So we had a great little trip to Joseph, OR this weekend. Saw some great art, met up with good friends and now it's back to work. Painting.

Here's the little progress that shows from several hours worth of work done today at the Short Term Gallery. Stop by and see myself and Tom Novak if you're in town.

I got a little bit of painting done today, but not much. I spent most of the day getting the Short Term Gallery set-up. Price tags, talking with early customers and helping to add a few last pieces to the space.

Tomorrow and Sunday I'll be away so there won't be any postings. Monday I'll be back to painting. Have a great weekend.

The start of Food!

Bettini goes crazy like this any time food is about to be given out. It doesn't matter if it's breakfast or dinner, or even the smallest of treats. You'd think she was being starved by the way she freaks out just before food.

Here's the one of the photo I'm working from.

If you'd like to see this painting being created in person, stop by the Short Term Gallery in Baker City 1829 Main St. We open to the public on Friday June 5th and I'll be there almost everyday in June painting and selling artwork. The hours will be 10-5 at least 6 days a week.
